A Ship to cross the Sea of Suffering

"Real happiness is found in the struggles we undergo to realise our goals, in our efforts to move forward." Daisaku Ikeda

Change is the only constant

A wee spoken word I’d like to tweak one day…

Change is the only constant

We live in a world that is uncertain,
like standing on sand that disappears beneath
our feet – our roots,
as it mixes and mingles with the winds of time.
We change and take new paths of unknown outcomes.
We trust in the universe as we step forward, searching for common ground.
Yearning for familiarity, but more often than not
we tread new waters and breathe in new possibilities.
It’s hard to let go of what was,
in our full and present lives,
to sacrifice our currents foundations
for new challenges and growth,
sometimes unwillingly but we must always proceed forward.
Like waking from a dream where you felt so comfortable,
to a new day where almost everything you once knew is fading
and all that is left, is foreign.
Thoughts, feelings and emotions that stood so strongly
defined in our lives
now like a distant whisper we cannot grip.
Faced with new ideas and directions unknown
the human life so uncertain,
so changeable,
So limit-less.
